Day 138g: To re-Member the peace of Loving … (September 14, 2019)
It is true that my human compatriots had provided a steady stream of disappointment up to this particular moment of The Walk*, and yet even if they had chosen otherwise – even if my pilgrimage had been repeatedly well-met by those openly interested in joining me in championing Kindness and Justice and Compassion, nothing could have dampened the sheer bliss I felt while helping stunned butterflies up from the blazing roadway and placing them gently out of harm’s way. Yes, I was primarily engaging this Walk to inspire my human brothers & sisters to live more Peace-filled lives, no doubt, and yet it was just as true that every sentient life I encountered along the way – fully regardless of the particular species encountered – was just as worthy of love and caring as any of my human cousins. And so it was both a persistent joy and a consistent honor to be able to regularly re-member the same …
*There were many dozens of exceptions, of course; brilliant interactions with brilliantly kind and loving individuals who, each in their own way, re-affirmed my resolve for The Walk and indeed my hope for humanity as a whole. That said, the vast majority of my fellow humans were still quite obviously soaked in a thick Soul-encapsulating sludge composed of greed and fear and indifference; a sludge I had been called to wash away, and yet a sludge I far more often than not couldn’t penetrate.
“Some of the best gifts are ones the recipient doesn’t even know you’ve given; services they don’t even see, so they don’t ever feel dysfunctionally beholden to in some way ‘repay’ the same. These purely unknowing recipients never know how valuable your kindness was or how much it helped them or eased their burdens. And yet there is always at least one witness to any such selfless giving, and it is that witness that carries the Light of the pure Love onward into their own day … So let my heart always be like it is in this current moment: fully ready to explode with love – to become a cascading rainstorm, with neither stream nor river nor lake nor ocean even close to being vast enough to contain the deluge of the same.” ~ inspired by Jarod Kintz & Sanober Khan
