Liminal Layover #03f (Brooklyn): Farewell to a next & fonder Family … (August 14, 2019)

That I deeply enjoyed my Brooklyn stay-over was clear to all beyond even the smallest semblance of doubt, and yet what was neither crystalline nor expected was one of the primary reasons why that joy came to be. For who could have thought that I would be blessed with so much sheer amusement from talking to (and being thoroughly entertained by) Sam & Matt’s two wonderful children – Cecelia & Sidney? Not I certainly. And yet there they were each day after arriving home from school – both of them so loudly & so overflowing full of life & funniness. Much like their parents they were, I suppose – intelligent and silly and curious and well-meaning. Apples never do fall very far from their trees, I suppose, so in retrospect I really shouldn’t have been that surprised …

May your futures be ever full of joy. What a miracle it is to be a young dragon among dragons, fully alive right now and functioning facet of this still flagrantly wonderful world! Do you ever stop to think about that? About what an odd and lucky thing it is to be a young eternal Soul inside your younger fleshly body? To live in a world with so many marvels residing in it? To have so many opportunities to love and be loved? I am so grateful to have known and cared for you in these past few & fleeting days, and it is not without a deeper wound that I shall leave you and your dear city.” ~ inspired by Tui Sutherland & Kahlil Gibran
