Day 061r: Re-turning the Tables … (06/14/2019)

For the past 30+ years of my life — ever since my early college days — I have been regularly visited by (and had more than a few highly entertaining conversations with) various Jehovah’s Witnesses. How wonderful it was, then, to walk past one of their windowless meeting houses on this day and be the one doing the knocking as opposed to the one merely answering the door … 😀

“One word absent from any verse of scripture, or even one word misinterpreted incorrectly, can dramatically shift the entire meaning of the same. So before you concretely believe anything about God or morality of Truth or goodness, remember to ask yourself how competent and indeed how neutral is the transmitter, the translator, or the interpreter. One hundred and twenty-five years after every single major event in history, there remains not a single living witnesses thereto. So we must ever ask: how well has the man or woman who is sharing his or her version of any story kept &/or researched &/or stored the same? And as such how can any of us put that much faith into anything that no fellow mortal can truly fully know?” ~ inspired by Suzy Kassem
