Day 57f: Nothing but to Try … (06/10/2019)

The walking was quite pleasant on this day (despite the light-yet-steady rainfall) and I soon found myself flowing into the church sanctuary in the beautiful town of St. Chely, where I once more paused and reveled in a heartfelt reverence for my life and The Way, all while remembering the soft conversation I had just shared with a lovely elderly couple on the outskirts of town — a conversation that started with me telling them what I was doing (walking to the United States) and why (to re-awaken humanity to the way of Peace & Kindness), and a conversation that ended with us all tearing up a bit over the sheer beauty of our meeting* … 😀

“The fundamental difference between those who fail and those who succeed is not a lack of strength or a lack of talent or a lack of knowledge or a lack of influence. Rather, the only thing that separates those who fall from those who remain upright is solely a lack of resilience & will.” ~ inspired by Vince Lombardi

*After offering my Walk’s brief explanation, I concluded its telling with — “I am not sure I will ever in any way significantly succeed in my mission [of enlivening Peace throughout the world], and yet I know that I must at least try.” And it was then that my St. Chely Soulmate smiled through tears of joy and answered: “You aren’t merely trying, my good man. You are actually doing it right now!”

P.S. In fitting fashion with the Faith-full nature of my Walk (as well as in accordance with that Walk’s primary Purpose — giving others the easy opportunity to know the sheer Joy that comes whenever selflessly Giving to another in need), I left Thierry’s raincoat in the church sanctuary and proceeded onward through the day’s misty rains without it … 🙂
