Day 48n: Solvitur per Amandum … (06/01/2019)
Shortly thereafter I entered the city of Tence proper, and headed straight away to its intriguingly lovely Chapel de Notre Dame — to gain respite from the now glaring sun and to rest my already weary feet, yes, but also to pause for a bit in what can only be properly called “prayer” — not to any particular godhead per se, but simply as a profession of gratitude for having made it this far, and to light a candle of reverence while offering a heartfelt wish that all sentient kind might soon receive Compassion and know Peace … 🙂
“While the great St. Augustine might have been on to something when stating ‘Solvitur ambulando’ (It is solved by walking), it was Jesus Christ who offered up the far greater Truth of ‘Solvitur per Amandum’ — It is only solved by Loving.” ~ anonymous
P.S. I especially liked this particular portrayal of Jesus Christ, for the simple reason that it was humorously reminiscent of the similar “heavenly-facepalm” I myself often offer up whenever hearing many of the dozens of less-than-earnest excuses folks give for not going vegan (Lions eat other animals too?!? Plants have feelings too?!? Cavemen ate animals too?!? etc etc etc — sigh) … 😉
