Day 47b: The view from Above … (05/31/2019)

One of the advantages of sleeping on the nearside outskirts of any particular town (in this case St. Sauver en Rue) was the gorgeous, almost medievally mystical vistas that graced my eyes while passing through (or in this case, above) those same, mostly deserted villages during the initial moments of the early mornings that followed. This blessing was especially evident in France, which was (for me at least) by far the most stunningly beautiful of the Camino countries through which I walked … 😀

“Detached perspective is a form of divine abstraction; greatly simplifying — and thus more fully exposing — the intimate relationship that always exists between eye, brain, heart, and object. Such an overarching gaze provides one with an ideal view of all that truly is; making the normal man into an almost godly spectator — one who sees the profound interconnection amongst all things, and one who thereby becomes the very person upon whom the entire Universe converges.” ~ inspired by Robert Hughes
