Day 39n: Tripping over the cracks in the World … (05/23/2019)

I eventually arrive in the town of Yenne proper and even though the church was already closed and the folks in the local church parish proved to be far less than helpful (and only mildly friendly at that), those same parishioners did encourage me to check out the local Tourist Information Office — where Lisa & Nadine reaffirmed my slightly waning faith in humanity by being extra kind to me immediately upon my arrival, and even telephoning the local donativo* hostel to secure me a place to sleep in town that night … 😀

“Real adventures require nothing more than a fully willing heart and the willingness to stride boldly forth — even if doing so means regularly tripping over the cracks in the world.” ~ inspired by Seanan McGuire

*Donativo’s are pilgrims hostels on the Camino (far more readily found in France than in Germany & Switzerland, and yet noticeably more scarce in France than they were in Spain) that still subscribe to the philosophy that it is an honor to serve pilgrims, especially pilgrims of the mendicant peaceful variety (like yours truly) — that there is no fixed or demanded price for lodging whenever a pilgrim arrives at their doors — that pilgrims are welcome whether they can pay fully (or even at all) for their night’s stay or not.
