Day 39o: The perfection within them All … (05/23/2019)
I made it to the local donativo hostel without any problems and was promptly welcomed by Marcel, an supremely gentle elderly man who co-runs the hostel with his wife Michelle. Michael (the kind Austrian pilgrim I had met the night before at the hostel in Chanaz) was there as well, and we were both amusingly surprised when Marcel — obviously an “old school” Camino ward — was so smitten by my Peace Walk that he gave me the far larger and much nicer “room of honor” for the night … ( :O )
Michael and I chatted for a bit in the garden thereafter (after taking our respective showers and hand-washing our dirty-dusty clothes) and he then headed out to town to get some dinner. At this point Michelle came upstairs to meet me and had unexpectedly brought some pasta from her own kitchen that I was encouraged to cook in the hostel’s small kitchenette … ( :O )
While I was doing so Michael returned and had brought some groceries that he had bought for me to help support me and my Walk … ( :O ) I gently declined the non-vegan items in the bag (explaining that my unconditional Respect & Love for all animals was the reason for my doing so) and expressed a profuse gratitude for the vegan ones (as well as for thinking of me at all). I then enjoyed a hearty meal of pasta with fresh tomatoes (with fresh bread, and peaches for dessert) and went to bed early, feeling ever-so-thankful for this already wonder-filled Journey and indeed my wonderful Life as a whole … 😀
