Day 35e: Yearning in Yennes … (05/19/2019)
Yennes was the very first city I entered in France, and at least on this particular morning it happened to be a city that directly reflected all the foreboding warnings I had been repeatedly given about the French up to that point. Indeed, even though there was very large farmer’s market/yard-sale-type event taking place throughout the village on that day, no one seemed at all interested in helping yours truly in any way at all — with no physical sustenance provided of any kind and shockingly little kindness, warmth &/or even mild encouragement offered as well … 🙁 … I was already feeling pretty low (primarily due to my still quite painful physical troubles), and the latter lack of warmth had me retreating into the lovely little local church to recharge my attitudinal batteries before eventually flowing onward.
