Day 35d: Two down, three to GO … (05/19/2019)

I cross over the border into France alone in the wilderness and fully without pomp or fanfare, all while filled with an odd mix of emotions comprised of equal parts “accomplishment” & apprehension; the former while thinking about how far I have already walked and the Good that has already been Done thereby, and the latter stemming from the still-quite-chilly weather alongside everything I had been told thus far about the French people — mostly that they were in general a colder, almost rude folk who were extremely unlikely to warmly receive pilgrims of any kind, much less mendicant pilgrims of my particularly peaceful variety* … :O

*As the subsequent posts will resoundingly attest, nothing was further from the Truth; with the French people I encountered regularly proving to be some of the kindest and most generous I met along the entire Way … 😀
