Day 31c: Reveling in a Rest that is real … (05/15/2019)
It is critical to remember that it is not WHAT we do or don’t do, but rather WHY we do or don’t that matters. Just as important, regarding that all-important WHY, is the simple Truth that everything done or not done for others will ultimately bring Peace and is therefore Right, and that everything done or not done for self will inevitably bring dis-ease & turmoil — and therefore is not. This is as true for our times of rest as it is for our instants of effort; just as true for our relatively passive times of thinking as it is for our overtly active deeds. And so it was that every time I came across a bench or empty chair by the path, I only sat after remembering to do so for you & yours; only paused and rested after remembering that The Walk was being undertaken for the world, and that its success what all that mattered … 😉
