Day 16f: Alongside the Walls of Wisdom … (04/30/2019)

I make it without major incident into the city of Basel, and am flowing smoothly towards the majestic towers of the famous Basel Munster already seen on the horizon when I come across a delightfully odd series of artist-stalls and sage-like slogans* graffitied nearby … 🙂

“There is a fundamental stubbornness within me that cannot bear to be daunted or dismayed by the will of others. In truth, at every attempt made to intimidate or pressure, my courage always rises to the fore. And this is an incredibly critical trait to make manifest, for if I choose to be quiet or in any way neutral in situations of abuse or injustice, then I do nothing less than actively support the aims of those oppressors.” ~ via Jane Austen & Desmond Tutu

*The first of which pictured above sharing the Truth that “Life is a fully free experiment — in no way subject to the dictates of either machines or money,” and the second of which reminding us all that life cannot be truly lived while feebly staring into screens or meekly fulfilling mere obligations or engaging mere routines. No, my Friends, life can only be truly lived while exuding the courage to be “vandalistic” — boldly resisting those who oppress the weak, openly debunking those who deceive the less intelligent, and loudly protesting those who uphold any wrongness or injustice.
