Page 70 … God’s chosen people(s)

“[God] chose one people to demonstrate his special care, and from them to provide a Savior for the whole world.”

Lucy!  Of course He did no such thing … Indeed, for you or anyone else to make such an outrageous claim requires that you completely deny the vast majority of the entirety of human history!

My Friend, if it is indeed true that God created humankind, then archaeological evidence now conclusively shows that He did so at least 100,000 years ago (with many scientists erring on the side of raising that number to 200,000 years) … And you would like to tell me that He waited to announce his “chosen people” until only 4000 years ago – at least 96,000 years after he (supposedly) created Adam & Eve?!?!   And are you also going to tell me that he purposefully refused to give any sign whatsoever to the Chinese, who had already developed a sophisticated civilization at roughly the same time Moses was wandering the desert waiting for his famed stone tablets?   And what about the ancient Egyptians, who were civilized roughly one thousand years before that (and a full three thousand years before Christ’s arrival)? – or the Sumerians, who were fully capable of receiving God’s divine commands a full two thousand years before Moses came down from Mt. Sinai, and at least four thousand years before Mary gave birth to Jesus?  Why did God ignore these societies that He also co-created, my Friend?  And if there was a valid reason for those seemingly callous dismissals, why are they not mentioned at all in the Scriptures?

Now admittedly, these questions do not disprove the validity of Jesus Christ and the clear brilliance of his message, and yet they do cast quite about of doubt on the claims of Jews & Christians & Muslims that they & they alone are “God’s chosen people”.
