Page 71 … a Child-like faith

“God sent his own son Jesus Christ to bear the awesome consequences of sin. … In the resurrection of Jesus, God demonstrates his victory over sin and calls people everywhere to identify with this victory by faith in Jesus.”

Actually, my Friend, at least according to Jesus himself, there is no need whatsoever to have “faith” in him.  That dogma is purely a perversion of Paul’s … In marked contrast, Jesus made it repeatedly very clear that he himself was not to be worshiped (see Mark 10:18, John 5:41, John 7:16, John 8:50-54, John 12:44 et al), but rather that is Way was to be faithfully emulated (i.e. courageously “followed” – Matthew 16:24, Matthew 19:28, Mark 10:21, Luke 18:22, John 8:12, John 13:15-17, John 13:34-35 & John 15:8).

“Why do you call me ‘Good”; no one is Good but God alone … Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life … And whoever believes in me believes not in me, but in the One who sent me … And Whoever believes in me, will DO the works I do.” ~ Jesus Christ (Mark 10:18 + John 6:47 + John 12:44 + John 14:12)
