Page 123-124 … Daniel’s un-Grand Entrance
Daniel: I definitely would not [go and hear a homosexual pastor preach] … I would not want a spiritual leader that is ok with desanctifying Holy Matrimony … Why would that be ok??? Lawlessness differs from legalism … The world is trying to erase our ability to know the difference between right and wrong. It tries to turn God’s Word into a circus in the midst of the persecution of Christians … God does not make sinners. Some people attempt to drag God through human courts … Their lack of understanding reveals spiritual blindness … Satan draws people away from God while the heart of God wants to express His Love to those who will come to Him … Evil comes from the heart of men; justice comes from God … God’s Love and our need for forgiveness all come together at the cross … Ravi Zacharias so truly states, “As we walk into this world of darkness, we need to be reaching for the Hand of God” … Anything that creates a barrier between you and God needs to be removed … God has His finger pointing at the sin that needs to be removed in each of our lives.
Scaughdt: Yes, Dan – I also happen to agree with many of your statements … The world is definitely trying to erase our ability to know Right from Wrong. Indeed, your own obvious inability to see that God made gays gay for a Purpose, and that His perfect Love (by its very nature) does not condemn them at all is actually evidence that this is so …
It’s not rocket science, my Friend — first read Leviticus, then read Hebrews chapter 8, and then read the words of Jesus Christ … If you do so in this order, and if you do so with an open Heart, I have Faith that the Truth of Love will open itself itself to your eyes that still do not quite See, and to your ears that still do not quite Hear … Peace!
P.S. If God is perfect Love (see Matthew 5:48) and Satan is fear (which is Love’s opposing force – see 1 John 4:18), then it is the folks like you & yours who are limited in their Love for others who are being “drawn away from God by Satan” … Think about it!
P.P.S. If God does not make sinners (I agree with you on this one as well), then homosexuals are not sinners … You can look to the studies I cited above (go to pages 78-80 for the full list) to see that this is so, or you can simply use your common sense (After all, when did you choose to become straight?) … Of course you can also look to the Scriptures; for the Bible itself confirms this Truth as well – never once condemning either homosexuals or homosexuality; not one single verse of it!
Daniel: The Bible says that we are born in sin and shaped in inequity … When we are born into this world we are like our fathers. And Jesus tells us that we must be born again spiritually. We must renew our minds in Christ, and then we are transformed in the image of God … We can then be adopted as Children of God, and cry together with Jesus in spirit, “Father Abba!” … Anything else is creating a different kind of image … The bodies that we are born into are not going to make it to Heaven. That is why we are rerouting our circuitry … The flesh wants what the flesh wants. However, in the spiritual pursuit of things we must not despise the flesh … God has given us life so that we can be Christ-like and give Him glory.
Scaughdt: That was a pretty intriguing response, Dan – and I actually happen to agree with pretty much all of it (though in all probability from a different, more Jesus-centered perspective) … That having been said, could you please explain how it relates to the topic at hand? Namely, how it relates to A) whether or not homosexuality itself is a sin (if so, please cite me a verse that says the same), … B) why gay sex is a more serious “mortal sin” than the other, far more prevalent heterosexual capital offenses mentioned in the Old Testament (sins that you fail to condemn or even discuss), and … C) whether or not you would attend a sermon given by a celibate, non-sinning, openly homosexual preacher (and if not, why not) … Thanks!
Lucy: Dan, what have here is someone being guided by someone other then the Holy Spirit — and I pray God will open their eyes!
Scaughdt: Lucy, feel free to check out Matthew 7:15-20, and realize thereby that you are clearly pointing your arrogantly accusatory finger in the wrong direction …
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit … Thus YOU WILL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:15-20)
Lucy: I believe it is you, Scaughdt, who is trying to teach a different Gospel!
Scaughdt: Yes, I am – the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!!* …
*Jesus identifies his Gospel (not Paul’s misconstruction of the same) in two particular places in the Bible — in Matthew 10:7 (where he reminds us all that the Kingdom of Heaven of which he speaks is already Here & Now; alive in every moment of our lives), and in Matthew 22:12-14 (where he reminds us that the only way for us to enter this Kingdom – his Kingdom – is to sacrifice our own wants & needs – &/or confront our own fears – in order to give Love &/or selfless service to others).
“As you go, proclaim this Good News: ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is [already] at hand’ … And because of the increase of lawlessness, the Love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures [in Love] to the end will be saved. And this Good News of the Kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world …” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 10:7 + Matthew 24:12-14)
