Page 118 … my Third Question

Scaughdt:  Well, now it is on to my third major Query …

Question #03: Do you believe in a literal reading
of Leviticus 18:22 & Leviticus 20:13?

This is a pretty important interrogatory, actually, because if you do believe in a straight-forward, non-metaphorical, literal reading of these two verses, then you will have to admit that neither one of them condemns homosexuality at all.  Indeed, none of the verses in the entire Bible used to justify the condemnation of gays say anything about homosexuality itself; indeed, they all only claim that homosexual sex (“a man lying with a man as with a woman”) is a sin, not being gay or being in a homosexual relationship … And as such, since homosexuality itself is now not a sin, I must ask again:  Why wouldn’t either of you attend the church services of a devout, non-lusting (and therefore non-sinning) gay preacher? … What rationale do you now have for rejecting Oliver Clyde Allen by refusing to listen to him preach the Word of God?

Lucy:   No one said that being gay is a sin … THE SEXUAL ACT IS!

[Oh my Goodness Gracious!!! … The debate is now essentially OVER,
as the “primary antagonist” has just (unwittingly) admitted defeat!]

000 surprise R

Vanessa:  Then you would go and listen to them preach???

Scaughdt:  Wow!  That’s great, Lucy! … The Bible completely agrees with you (and your admission here has essentially brought this debate to a close) … It is indeed gay sex that is the sin according to both Paul & the Old Testament authors – not being gay itself … So, that having been said, assuming that Oliver Clyde Allen – the self-proclaimed worshiper of Christ and devout Man of God in the original picture on this very thread – is not engaging in gay sex (which he most certainly would not during the sermon you would be attending), then HE IS NOT SINNING,   and you would of course go and listen to him preach the Word ……… right?

Bart:   Are they leading by example, Vanessa?

Vanessa:   Bart, from what I see, YES they are! … Do you know for certain whether they are engaging in sex?  … And like Scaughdt says, if the pictured gentlemen are gay and not engaging in homosexual sexual acts — then why would you cling to your bigotry and reject their invitation?  Why wouldn’t you go and listen to him preach????

P.S. Yes, it is true, as you said earlier, that “Lucy is not in the pulpit”, and yet we all have the ability to represent Jesus anytime we speak to another.  Perhaps we are in the pulpit during every conversation we ever have.  And since none of us have have the ability to judge perfectly — why would we even attempt to act like we know what God’s Grace would or would not include?  Bart, you and Lucy have the ability to chase people from God with your condemning words, so do you really want to explain to God one day why your lack of encouragement and Love chased someone away from His Way?
