Page 227 … the problem with Evil
Daniel: Ravi Zacharias spoke about the problem of Evil – “When you say that there is too much evil in this world you assume that there is good. When you assume that there is good you assume that there is moral law on the basis of differentiating between good and evil. But if you assume a moral law you must posit a moral law-giver, but that is who you are trying to disprove or not prove. Because if there is not a moral law there is no good. If there is no good then there is no evil. What is your question?” … Now there is a Apologetic Christian who I can relate to!
Scaughdt: My dear Daniel, it is a patent fallacy that any moral law needs a “moral law-giver” … As innate herd animals & higher mammals, every human being innately understands that we are all essentially a part of ONE giant human Family, and thus that it is Right to Care for others instead of callously ignore them or condemn them or be cruel towards them.
Diana: And — loving others is showing them God’s Word and warning them of Hell.
Scaughdt: This might be so, Diana – via Paul’s dysfunctional standard of “love”, perhaps, and yet certainly not by Jesus’ far greater measure of perfect, humble Divine LOVE! … Indeed, how can you sincerely LOVE who a person truly is by encouraging them to become who they are not? And how can truly you LOVE a person at all while worshiping a God who you know will condemn them to an eternity of torment if they do not become as you wish they were – instead of revel in who they already are? And how can you truly LOVE a person by worshiping & actively supporting a God who you know will punish the innocent with an eternity of Hellfire? Indeed, that is not very Loving of you at all! … But enough for now … Be well, my Friend!
