Page 260 … without sin; without death

You then note that, “Without sin, there would be no need for Jesus’ death”, which is, of course, a statement that is true enough – and yet not at all in the way you intend it to be … Ironically, Jesus ultimately chose his crucifixion because people (like you & yours) weren’t listening to what he was saying about The Way of Christ.  So, since folks weren’t listening, he had to show them what he meant in the most powerful act of self-sacrifice available at the time – namely, his pre-planned crucifixion (He even quoted Psalm 22:1 from the cross to clue folks in that this was precisely what he was doing!) … That’s right, since folks back then (including his own disciples – see pages 429-430 herein) weren’t listening to what he was telling them about cleansing their lives from sin by actively caring for others (especially our enemies & the downtrodden in our communities), Jesus had to show them what he meant – he had to show them the one & only Narrow Path that leads to his “Kingdom of Heaven” (Luke 17:20-21) … And yet sadly enough, along came Paul thereafter with his low self-esteem and his off-the-wall theology about vicarious atonement for sin (via worshiping Jesus as the only Son of God instead of courageously following his Way); a theology which was then adopted by most of the members of the modern-day Christian church (who continue to be nothing more than modern-day Pharisees) and ruined the whole plan … Sheesh!
“Why do you call me good?  No one is good but God alone … For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done for you … If you understand these things, you are blessed while you DO THEM.” ~ Jesus Christ (Mark 10:18 + John 13:15-17)

“Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” ~ Paul (Romans 10:9)
