Page 261 … to Violate the Law
Next, you state that, “Sin is the violation of God’s law”, one that “requires a price to be paid”, primarily because Paul told us that “the wages of sin is death.”
Well, aside from the over-arching & inescapable Paul-problem with which you & yours have shackled yourselves (see pages 202-203 previously), this particular argument raises another very particular problem for every conservative Christian like yourself. And that problem is the fact that judging others for their sins is not your job; indeed, to judge another person by their misdeeds – even their “mortal” ones – is absolute hypocrisy unless you have thoroughly cleansed yourself of your own, something you correctly admit that you cannot ever do …
Please consider the following points of interest:
*First – Jesus couldn’t have been more clear about the need for all Christians to shut their mouths in regards to the sins of others when he said, “Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you call out the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck out of your neighbor’s.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:1-5)
*Second – Just as important to all Christians is the following passage, also from Jesus: “Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of the commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven … For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” (Matthew 5:19-20) … And why is this passage so important for all of you daring to openly profess that homosexuals are damned to Hell? Well, because one of violations of the “least commandments” that Jesus means here is your flagrant lack of humility! Consider again the words of Jesus: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” (Matthew 18:3-4)
*Third – Finally, it is very important for all Christians to remember that there are two Commandments that are greater than all others; and this, according to the words of Jesus Christ himself when he said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength … [and] ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these … And on these two commandments hand all the law and the prophets.” (Mark 12:30-31 + Matthew 22:37-40)
And why is this passage so important for all of you daring to openly tell gays that they are “less than”, and thereby doomed to eternal torment by the God you openly worship & adore? Well, because Jesus only defined “neighbor” only one time in the entire Bible (in the Parable of the Good Samaritan, Luke 10:29-37) and he did so by defining one’s “neighbor” as one’s “cultural enemy” – in the case at hand (at least for you & yours), homosexuals!!!
