Page 300 … the LOVE of God
“You don’t understand the true love of God, and the price he paid for everyone.”
Lucy, my dear, it simply must be clear by now that you are not dealing with an “unknowing” Buddhist or a “heretic” Muslim or an “ignorant” atheist or a “misguided” New Ager – that you are not dealing with someone who you can so easily dismiss as a mere “heathen who doesn’t know the Scriptures”. No my Friend, at least as far as this conversation is concerned, you are dealing with someone who has dedicated every day of the last eleven years of his life to literally walking The Way of Jesus Christ – doing so exactly as Jesus himself laid it out in the Gospels … And you are dealing with someone who – at least up to now – appears to know at least as much about the Bible as you do; not only its contents, but also the various Fruits that its various interpretations bear when courageously tested. As such, you simply cannot maintain any measure of credibility in this discussion when you so casually (and so arrogantly, and so incorrectly) dismiss my knowledge of Jesus & his Father & the Scriptures … OK? Alrighty then …
Now, what we are actually dealing with at this moment is you being faced with another wonderful opportunity to set aside your Matthew 7:1-5 “sins” and to embrace one of the most important passages in the entire New Testament instead, namely Matthew 18:3-4 … Until you do so, this conversation will continue to go nowhere, and you will continue to lock yourself and all those who follow you out of Jesus’ “Kingdom of Heaven”.
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:3-4)
“I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel … It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt … But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, ‘Know the Lord’, for they shall ALL know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sins no more” ~ Jeremiah 31:31-34 (see also Hebrews 8:8-13)
“Be perfect [in LOVE] therefore, just as [the LOVE] of your Father in Heaven is perfect … There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in Love.” ~ Matthew 5:48 + 1 John 4:18
