Page 471 … justified in Jesus

You then repeat yourself again when you state that, “1 Corinthians 6:9–10 includes homosexuals in a list of those who will not have a part in God’s Kingdom.   But verse 11 goes on to say, ‘Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.’” … YES!  This is indeed the case, Lucy.  Now please, my dear, open your Heart enough to listen to the particulars of this particular biblical call:

*First of all, this thread is not about gays in general, but about Christian gays – one of them an ordained minister, no less.  As such, according to this very verse, Oliver Clyde Allen and his husband Rashad have both already been appropriately “washed”, “sanctified” and “justified” – and this, even according to your own highly conservative interpretation of the Scriptures!   For this reason alone you should be able to humble yourself enough to go and listen to Bishop Oliver preach the Word the Word.

*Secondly, you are in all probability still committing more than one of the sins directly or indirectly mentioned in this very passage, and as such would do more than well to cease your denigration of the sins of homosexuals and cleanse your own cup instead!

*Thirdly, if you are truly going to be followers of “the whole Bible”, then you are not allowed to conveniently ignore the more challenging teachings & the Gospel of Jesus Christ – you are not allowed to set aside his wisdom when it doesn’t suit you and replace it with teachings more condemnatory, and therefore more comfortable for you & your personal prejudices.  To do so is to reject your own Lord & Savior and replace him with teachings that are patently anti-Christian!  Please consider the following as examples of those rejections:

Do not judge, so that you may not be judged.  For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.  Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to identify the speck in your neighbor’s … All who exalt themselves will be humbled, but all who humble themselves will be exalted … You judge by human standards; I judge no one … By this everyone will know that you are my disciples:  that you show Love towards one another … My Father is glorified by this: that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:1-5 + Luke 18:14 + John 8:15 + John 13:35 + John 15:8)

“Why do you call me ‘Good”; no one is Good but God alone … Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life … And whoever believes in me believes not in me, but in the One who sent me … And Whoever believes in me, will DO the works I do … And those will come out — those who have done good to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation … Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life … And whoever believes in me, will DO the works I do.” ~ Jesus Christ (Mark 10:18 + John 6:47 + John 12:44 + John 14:12 + John 5:29 + John 6:47 + John 14:12)
