Page 470 … to Walk in Purity
“A thief no longer has to define himself as a thief. He is cleansed from his former ways and made new in Christ. A murderer — such as Saul before he became the apostle Paul — is forgiven and conformed to the image of Christ (Galatians 1:13; 1 Corinthians 15:9; Romans 8:29). And [similarly], someone trapped in homosexuality can be set free to walk in purity when he or she agrees with God about sin and trusts His power to forgive and restore.”
Lucy, regradless of who you are quoting here [see the Footnote at the bottom of page 455], allow me to make it once again very clear for you & yours – HOMOSEXUALITY … IS … NOT … A … SIN! Search the Scriptures all you will, my dear, and yet of the 31,000+ verses that are in your Bible, you will not find a single one that condemns homosexuals or homosexuality in any way. And I would think you would understand this by now, seeing as how you so often profess to follow & believe in “the whole Bible” … But wait a minute – you do know this already, Lucy, and have admitted as much twice in this very thread. On June 16th, after I asked you whether you believed in a literal reading of Leviticus 18:22 & Leviticus 20:13 (and whether you knew that nowhere in the entire Bible – in either those verses or anywhere else – did any passage condemn homosexuality itself in any way) and you responded: “No one said that being gay is a sin. THE SEXUAL ACT IS!” (see page 118 herein) … And the very next day (June 17th @2:41 your time), after I had just informed another thread participant that Oliver & Rashad aren’t sinning at all as long as they aren’t engaging in lustful sex, you interjected and said “Fine Scaughdt, if they are not partaking of the sexual act then they have done nothing wrong” (see page 122 herein) … So which is it, my Friend? Is homosexuality a sin in & of itself or not? If it is, please show me the Bible verse(s) that says so … And if it isn’t, please show me any verse in the entire Bible that says that homosexual lust – while admittedly a sin – is any worse than any other kind of lust; especially the dozens of other lust-based sins that are primarily committed by the vast majority of heterosexual pastors to this day.
In essence, my dear, if you still maintain that you would not go and hear Oliver Clyde Allen preach merely because he is gay, then you are not only expressing bigotry, you are doing so in violation of the contents of your own Bible. And if you try to maintain that you would not go and hear Oliver Clyde Allen preach the Word of God because he is “living a gay lifestyle” and therefore regularly lusting for his husband (a belief for which you have not one shred of evidence), then I would like you to also publicly admit that you will not go and listen to any heterosexual preachers who are fantasizing about having sex with women other than their wives (Matthew 5:27-28), or any heterosexual preachers who are committing physical adultery (Deuteronomy 22:22), or any heterosexual preachers who regularly masturbate (Genesis 38:3-10), or any heterosexual preachers who are coveting their neighbors’ wives (Deuteronomy 5:21), or any heterosexual preachers who have sex with their wives while they are menstruating (Leviticus 20:18) as well … To do anything less is to unjustly discriminate against gays – and to unjustly misrepresent the Bible itself …
So, I’m waiting, my Friend. Will you choose to be morally consistent now and openly condemn these preachers as well? Will you give them & their sins equal time on your Facebook feed hereafter?
