Page 477 … on Death & Resurrection
“The most important thing about Jesus, Scaughdt, was his death & resurrection – something you say was false!”
Actually, my dear, whether Jesus actually died on the cross or not, Jesus himself made it very clear that neither his death nor his apparent resurrection were even close to the most important thing at all – not the most important thing about himself (see Mark 10:18 + John 8:54), not the most important thing about his ministry (see John 13:15-17 + John 13:34-35), and not the most important thing about his message (see Matthew 10:7 + Matthew 24:12-14, Matthew 5:48, Luke 6:36, John 12:3, John 12:47, John 14:15-23 & John 15:11) … Indeed, if Jesus’ resurrection was the most important thing about Jesus, why doesn’t he mention it a single time in any of his parables – and why doesn’t he say the same when giving us his Commandments?
And in-deed, if we truly wish to honor both the Bible and Jesus Christ, then I think we should let the words of JESUS himself tell us what the “most important thing” was – and thereby do so in a way that gives Jesus the most honor and his teachings the most reverence; something I have humbly done throughout this thread, and something that I will humbly strive to continue to do for the rest of my life!
P.S. Even if your argument were actually true (and Paul was correct about Jesus – and Jesus was therefore incorrect about himself), then both Bishop Oliver Clyde Allen and his devout Christian husband Rashad actually agree with you – and as such, their “sins” (if they are committing any – you still have no evidence that they actually are) have already been “washed in the blood of Christ” just like yours!!! … And as such, it is actually a blatant disregard of the divinity of Jesus, of the power of his Father, and of the sanctity of the Bible itself, for you to still refuse to hear the Oliver Clyde Allen preach the Word of God on the basis of his sexuality!
