Page 478 … the Purpose of Christ
“It is you who don’t know the purpose of why [Jesus] came.”
My dear Friend, not only does your flagrant arrogance here not become you as a person, it is actually keeping you from inheriting the Kingdom of Heaven that Jesus himself came to offer you … Please consider: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom … Why do you call me ‘Good”; no one is Good but God alone … Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life … And whoever believes in me believes not in me, but in the One who sent me … And Whoever believes in me, will DO the works I do … Be perfect [in LOVE] therefore, just as [the LOVE] of your Father in Heaven is perfect … There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in Love.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:3-4, Mark 10:18, John 6:47, John 12:44, John 14:12 & Matthew 5:48) + 1 John 4:18
As such, please consider humbling yourself instead, my dear – if not to one day agree with me that there is indeed a far more Loving version of God in the Bible (who there quite undeniably is), then at the very least to publicly admit that you are not the only person with an accurate interpretation of the Scriptures; thereby allowing yourself to enter the blessed Kingdom of perfect Love that Jesus clearly desired to share with you & yours as well.
Lucy, the vast majority of Biblical scholars whose works I have consulted so far disagree with your current position regarding the exaggerated emphasis that the evangelical community places on the anti-homosexual verses in the Bible, and the texts of the Gospels (as presented en masse in this thread) seem to show pretty clearly that Jesus himself disagrees with you on this and many other points as well … Peace to you, my Friend!
