Page 482 … a true Son of God

“To you, Jesus was just a man.  To me, he is my Lord and Savior” … Well, first of all  Lucy, that I happen to think that Jesus was “only a man” is not only Biblically accurate (see Acts 2:22, 1 John 4:2, 2 John 1:7, Luke 2:7, John 4:6, John 19:28, Matthew 4:2, Matthew 4:11, Luke 23:26, Luke 24:39, John 20:20, Matthew 8:10, John 11:33-35, John 13:21, Hebrews 5:7, Luke 2:52, Mark 13:32, Matthew 26:39, 1 Timothy 2:5), but doing so also gives Jesus far more honor & far more reverence than believing that he was merely some sort of pre-destined, pre-empowered & pre-controlled lone Son of God acting on auto-pilot.  No my Friend, believing that Jesus was “only a man” (Hence, Jesus statement that “Very truly, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do even greater works than these.” ~ John 14:12) who still chose to consciously give his entire life (and even organize his own crucifixion) makes him so much more worthy of our praise!

That having been established – even if you were correct and Jesus is the Son of God, why in the world are you so clearly violating his commandments?!?!?  Why are you refusing to humble yourselves and care for homosexuals instead of openly & arrogantly (and incorrectly, I might add) judging them to be “mortal sinners”?!?!?

And if Jesus is the Son of God, why in the world are you giving the texts of Paul & the Old Testament priority over the teachings of Christ as written in the Gospels?!?!?

And if Jesus is the Son of God, why in the world are you so clearly rejecting his teachings by hypocritically condemning homosexuals of their sins when your own cup is still so obviously dirty (at the very least so publicly stained with the sin of arrogance)?!?!?

Indeed, my Friend, if Jesus Christ is the only Son of God as you claim, then he is almost certainly weeping heavily over the sins of his Father’s children today – not the “sin” of homosexuality; but rather the sins of you & others who believe as you do about them.

Do not judge, so that you may not be judged … Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your neighbor’s … You hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup [of others], but inside are full of greed and self-indulgence … First clean the inside of your own cup, so that the outside may also then become truly clean … Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven … Let [she] without sin cast the first stone.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:1-2 + Matthew 23:25-26 + Matthew18:3-4 & John 8:7)
