Page 736 … rebuking Peter

You then try to use the story of Matthew 16:21-23 to somehow rationalize your unjust & inaccurate attack on homosexuals, and yet you fail to realize that Jesus never once condemned Peter in this particular scene, nor did he threaten him with any sort of punishment or any semblance of damnation if he didn’t amend his ways.  Look again at the passage more closely and see that this is indeed the case …

“From that time on, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and undergo great suffering at the hands of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and rise on the third day.  And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, ‘God forbid it, Lord! This must never happen to you.’  But Jesus turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; for you are setting your mind not on divine things but on human things.’” ~ Matthew 16:21-23

Indeed, if we step back from this example and look at it with eyes that can See and ears that can Hear, we can plainly discern that Jesus’ treatment of Peter here is actually far more reminiscent of how Vanessa & I are being with you & yours than how you & yours are being towards homosexuals.  Indeed, if we pause long enough to think about it for a moment, we can See that what we actually have in this entire thread is you & yours telling Jesus & his true followers to abandon their Way of humble, unconditional Love towards homosexuals and reaffirm the outdated & immoral condemnations of the Old Testament instead; whereupon Jesus – were he ever to hear such nonsense, would most certainly turn to you & yours and say “Get behind me, Satan!” as well.

“But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.” ~ Jesus Christ (Luke 6:35)

All of you are children of the Most High … You are the children of the living God.” ~ Psalm 82:6 + Hosea 1:10

“And they shall all be taught BY GOD … And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 6:45 + John 12:32)
