Lucy:  Scaughdt, you attempt to distort our words … It is plain to see that you DON’T have the Peace and Joy that you preach!  You love to call people hypocrites and bigots just because we don’t agree with your false interpretation of the Bible, so you resort to being arrogant yourself!

 

Dan, you have been extremely patient with him, and you have shown people here how to truly be a Man of God!  … “The man of God understands that when our Lord commands him to ‘be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect’ (Matthew 5:48), he is only able to accomplish the same because God enables him to be ‘holy and blameless in his sight’ (Ephesians 1:4) through His power and the indwelling of His Spirit.  On our own, we are incapable of holiness and perfection, but through Christ who strengthens us, we can ‘do all things’ (Philippians 4:13).   The man of God knows that his new nature is that of the righteousness of Christ, which was exchanged for our sinful nature at the cross (2 Corinthians 5:17 & Philippians 3:9).  The final result is that he walks humbly with his God, knowing that he must rely solely upon Him to be able to live to the full and persevere to the end.”

 

Dan, you are a TRUE man of God standing firm in God’s Word!!! God Bless You!!!

 

Scaughdt:  Lucy!  How is quoting thousands of verses of Scripture and plainly showing you that you & yours are quite obviously not following The Way of Christ “distorting your words”?!?!?  I am merely stating some plain, hard facts on this matter …

Consider a few more of them, if you will:

 

*Do you openly believe that homosexuality itself is a sin?  Yes you do – and that is a bigoted belief that is clearly NOT supported by the Scriptures.

 

*Do you openly believe that it is acceptable for you & yours to publicly call out other sinners?  Yes you do – and that is a belief that is in direct contradiction to the teachings of Jesus.

 

*Have you publicly supported the eternal damnation of Christian homosexuals unless they repent?  Yes you have – and that is a belief that is not only hypocritical but immoral to boot!

 

There’s nothing fancy there, Lucy; nothing you have said has been twisted and none of your beliefs have been distorted.  That is simply an unbiased, objective look at the implications of your self-professed chosen beliefs about God and the Bible and homosexuals …

 

Now I do fully agree that Dan has indeed been relatively patient in this thread, and I would even agree that he has been far more humble than you & yours herein as well, and none of you have any standing to call me arrogant when it is you who are the ones claiming to have access to the one and only valid interpretation of the Scriptures (I have NEVER made such a claim – and I never will!), much less when it is you who are the ones openly justifying the fully discriminatory and patently unjust eternal damnation of an entire sub-class of humanity merely for being born with a different form of sexual attraction than yourselves!

Lucy, you even had the gall to quote Paul to twist Matthew 5:48 into a far lesser version than Jesus so clearly intended (I mean, all you have to do is read what Jesus said in the Gospels to see this – It is both so obvious & so consistent!), and THAT is exactly the problem – you & yours are not followers of Christ, my dear; you are followers of Paul.  I have given you hundreds of verses of Scriptures dozens of times over the past several months proving that this is the case (quite recently on pages 582-584 herein, and then again on pages 629-630 as well), and yet you still refuse to even have the common decency to read those references, much less comment upon them! … Frankly, if your ignoring my biblical evidence (while audaciously claiming to be the one who follows “the whole Bible” no less) wasn’t so comical at this point, it would be outrageous! … But I will repeat those verses for you again in due course, and everyone else who happens to read this thread will see them plainly enough.

 

In short, every Christian has a choice to make, Lucy – walk with Paul or walk with Jesus.  I recommend the latter without shame or remorse.  Peace to you & yours, my dear!

P.S.  Have I mentioned these particular verses to you yet?  They make it very plain – even if you are right about homosexuality being a sin, that you are to keep your mouth shut (and your Heart open) whenever speaking about them in public … Just sayin’ …
