Page 834 … a time-tested Source

“Human beings are frail, fallen, and limited in knowledge.  Rather than trust our own wisdom, we ought to seek truth from a time-tested source” … Actually, my Friend, the Bible itself says otherwise – telling us all quite definitively that, though we are indeed to use the Scriptures as one of our primary guides in life, we are to trust our own inner wisdom whenever we do so …

Again, please hear the Word of the God on this matter as well:

“And I will ask my Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever.  This is the Spirit of Truth … and you know it, because it abides with you, and it will be within you.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 14:16-17 + 26)

“And why do you not judge for yourselves what is Right? … Do not judge by mere appearances, but judge with impartial & just [Greek = dikaios] discernment.” ~ Jesus Christ (Luke 12:57 + John 7:24)

“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and think that it is they that testify on my behalf.  And yet you refuse to come to me to have life … Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them” ~ Jesus Christ (John 5:39-40 + John 14:23)

“They show that what the Law requires is written on their Hearts, to which their own conscience bears witness.” ~ Paul (Romans 2:15)

“For I delight in the Law of God in my inmost SelfAll must test their own work … You do not need to have anyone write to you, for you have been taught by God to Love one another.” ~ Paul (Romans 7:22 + Galatians 6:4-5 + 1 Thessalonians 4:9)

“Do not believe every spirit. Test the spirits to see if they are from God.” ~ 1 John 4:1

Test everything; hold fast only to what is good … Above all, clothe yourselves in Love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” ~ Paul (1 Thessalonians 5:21 + Colossians 3:14)
