Page 837 … a Hope for Holiness
“The Christian hope for homosexuals is not heterosexuality, but ‘holiness’.”
Actually, my dear – at least according to Jesus Christ, neither of these is the true Christian hope for homosexuals. No, my dear Friend, the actual hope for homosexuals is for Christians to drop their condemnatory, Paulinist, pro-Old Testament dogma and return to dealing with homosexuals in harmony with the humbly loving, selflessly caring Way of Christ!
“If you Love me you will abide by my commandments … They who hear my commandments and keep them are those who Love me; and those who Love me will be Loved by my Father, and I will Love them and reveal myself to them … A new commandment I give to you, that you Love one another. Just as I have Loved, so you also are to Love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples: if you show Love towards one another.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 14:14 + John 14:21 + 13:34-35)
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:3-4)
“Everyone who does not abide in the teaching of Christ, but goes beyond it [like Paul does], does not have God; whoever enlivens in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.” ~ 2 John 1:9
