Well Lucy, if this truly were the case, then you would not be publicly condemning homosexuals as sinners when – as you yourself have already admitted – the Bible itself does not condemn them. Your arrogance in this regard is misinformed, misaligned, misplaced & misguided. It is also as hypocritical as it is unkind, and in essence is therefore most un-Christ-like … Consider a different way, my Friend. Consider The Way of Jesus!
“You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of others; but God knows your hearts; for what is prized by human beings is an abomination in the sight of God … You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and that it is they that testify on my behalf. Yet you refuse to follow me to have life … Blessed rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey it.” ~ Jesus Christ (Luke 16:15 + John 5:39-40 + Luke 11:28)

You next state that, “We seek their good. We affirm the dignity of fellow human beings who also bear the image of God.”
Hmmm … Who are you, I wonder – a fellow sinner, to make such claims of righteousness against anyone else, Lucy; especially a fellow Christian (and in this case an ordained Christians minister)? Can you tell me what gives you the right to interpret the Scriptures so definitively, where millions of other Christians and thousands of Biblical scholars cannot?
And while we are at it, would you mind finally telling us why you are still refusing to abide by the encouragements of Jesus, my Friend – why you are so determined to replace his divine commands with your own, clearly man-made ones? Is it something more than merely the less-than-accurate indoctrinations of your conservative upbringing?
