First of all, my Friend, you expose your (at the very least subconscious) personal bigotry against gays every time you say “the homosexual” instead of simply “homosexuals” … Secondly, as both Vanessa & I have explained to you a number of times before in this very thread, a simple examination of the definition of  the verb “condemn” is enough to see that are indeed quite clearly condemning them … Indeed, according to Webster’s Dictionary – “condemn” means: 1) to declare something to be reprehensible, wrong or evil; usually after ostensibly weighing evidence, and always without reservation … 2) to say in a strong &/or definite manner that someone or something is bad or wrong … 3) to hand out a usually severe punishment, demand that someone or something receive said punishment, or openly affirm the levying of said punishment … 4) to cause another being to suffer or live in difficult or unpleasant conditions.

 

With that definition in mind, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see how the treatment that you & yours have given homosexuals in this thread (and possibly in your everyday lives as well) easily meets the first three of these four definitions, and – assuming that this thread has been read by even one homosexual to date –satisfies the fourth as well … Consider:

*1) You & yours have openly declared homosexuality to be a “mortal sin” and have unabashedly noted that it is a “lifestyle choice” that is – at the very least in your not-so-humble opinion – wrong.

*2) You & yours have openly stated in a definitive manner throughout this conversation your unified belief that homosexuals need to repent from their sinful “choice” to be gay.

*3) You yourself have quoted the Bible repeatedly to justify the punishment of non-repentant homosexuals with an eternity of torment in Hell!

* 4) And finally, your public judgment of homosexuals as being especially sinful and especially deviant has indeed further entrenched the culture-wide ignorance & society-wide bigotry that is bringing emotional, mental & even physical suffering to millions of homosexuals to this very day (see page 150 herein for specific examples of these harms).

 

As such my dear Friend, even though you might wish that you weren’t condemning homosexuals, you most certainly are doing so; and even though you have frequently tried to pass the buck for that hypocritical bigotry onto the words of the Bible, it is you & you alone who are choosing to read the Scriptures in such a unnecessarily primitive & judgmental manner.

 

P.S. You also seem to keep forgetting that Oliver Clyde Allen is himself a devout Christian!
