But there is no “other” to Love … (02/09/12)
yes, yes, yes … asking about The Mystery is futile …
… and we KNOW that there essentially is no “self” and no “other” — that we are all innately and essentially ONE — a State of Being that we will all re-member once we pass on after this lifetime — when our Souls reunify with the All …
… and we can sometimes mentally experience this Oneness during intense states of stillness (e.g. meditation) …
… This is all well and good.
AND we also live right smack dab in a material Reality that does indeed have us experiencing the VERY REAL delusion of separateness.
So what are we to do with this Blessing; this illusion of consciousness?
Are we to believe in it blindly, and only live for our own benefit?
I think we already know the practical effects of that path — war, condemnation, bigotry, dis-ease, etc.
Are we to veer starkly in the other direction and become “enlightened” — “knowing” of our Oneness and “acting accordingly” by not acting at all; by simply sitting and “being”?
Maybe so, but don’t we have enough of such stillness to look forward to for the eternity in which we will soak after our current lifetime ends?
Either way, there IS a Middle Path — one in which we act as separate beings while being aware of our Oneness; while being aware of the delusion of our separateness. This is what it means to truly Love another … This is the source of all forms of true Compassion and real Intimacy …
And this is the only Enlightenment I want to Know.
