“Truly”

With a crushing certainty I knew that,

as long as she pivots about her own axis –

… as long as she makes her own happiness her center,

WE are doomed to die.

I knew – fatally & completely – that,

until she chooses to truly Love me

(rather than merely be Loved by me),

we will never be truly Together.

And I knew that this is a choice she is currently not making –

… and that this is the choice she might never make.

And it was then that I chose to truly let her go …

… It was then that I finally truly Loved her.
