2015 to 2018 … A wondrous War well-waged
This was the period of my life when The Great IBB Milk War began to escalate, and ultimately came to its bold & somewhat volatile conclusion. The conflict started in 2014 (after my repeated attempts to calmly explain veganism to my bosses & co-workers were met with both disdain & derision) and it escalated steadily thereafter, as I began to intensify my efforts to get folks to treat my animal friends with even a modicum of decency & respect. Two of the many ways I tried to awaken my fellow co-workers are pictured here – the first a series of graphically colorful stickers that I regularly glued to the milk cartons that were purchased by my bosses for employees to use at the company’s two in-house coffee stations (one hundred of which I then hid all around the many floors of the business the evening before departing on my 2018-2019 Peace Pilgrimage back to the States), and the second a multi-thousand paper-ball monument (that remains as pictured to this very day) to the thousands of cows who were tortured & murdered to fulfill the comfort-based desires of my co-workers …
“Nothing strengthens oppressive authority so much as silence … So never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world…would do this, it would change the earth … In truth, we must all always take sides. For timid neutrality always helps the oppressor, and never the victims. Silence always encourages the tormentor, never those tormented.” ~ via Leonardo da Vinci, William Faulkner & Elie Wiesel
