2006 … A Re-Discovering of Peace

And then in the early stages of this year I made the decision to fully embody a humble reverence for all beings; living each day as an “official” Peace Pilgrim – serving any & all nearby in every available moment, and always doing so without accepting any form of recompense for the same. It was shortly after this new lifestyle had begun that I was asked to share my “Re-Discovering Peace” presentation on “practical selflessness” for the first time (on February 26th in Wildwood, Georgia). I thought at the time that it would be the only such presentation I would ever share – sure as I was that I would soon be setting out to walk just as the Peace Pilgrim herself had walked. And yet “make plans, and the Universe merely chuckles”, as word got out about the aforementioned sharing and requests for the same started pouring in; first from local groups and then from interested “congregations” in other states as well. And so began the Journey that I had neither intended nor expected; traveling from town to town, community to community – serving in whatever ways I was asked to serve – while regularly sharing the RDP presentation in whatever format was desired by whomever wished to hear the same …

Real, deep-seated Peace only comes to those who freely choose to Be Kind when least inclined.” ~ Scaughdt

“The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance … As such, may what I do in this & every moment flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back; the way it is with all toddlers.” ~ via Alan Watts & Rainer Maria Rilke
