Day 148h: So little time, so many Churches … (September 24, 2019)
“God does not play dice with the Universe; instead He plays an ineffable game of His own devising – one which might be compared, from the perspective of any of its other players [i.e. all of us], to being involved in an obscure and complex variant of poker in a pitch-dark room; a poker game played with blank cards – for infinite stakes – with a Dealer who won’t tell us the rules, and yet smiles incessantly upon our doubts & confusions … We would all do well to remember that the liquor store sells the same divinity that the holy store sells – just for a higher price. Indeed, none of us will ever be truly Born Again until we dismiss all such faux-divinities, by baptizing the soil of our communities with the blood of our joyful sacrifice thereto. So say no thanks to the church, and instead simply help another. For the one tradition this world so desperately needs is that of kindness offered beyond any hint of reward. For as long as religious rituals are passed on as tradition, one generation of savage and divided tribals will make sure to propagate another. And it is this same prehistoric tendency that must end, if we are ever to know real peace and harmony – if we are ever to be worthy of anything resembling salvation. So let us prioritize kindness over all prayer or argument, and remember to never taint the same with hope or ideology.” ~ inspired by terry Pratchett & Aghijit Naskar
