Day 145i: Living fully on Friendship … (September 21, 2019)
And then it was that I made it to the community of West Hills and pulled into a local Wendy’s restaurant for some water, and kind employee Salar asks about The Walk and offers me an ice-cold Coca Cola instead …
“We lose our ability to live fully if we neglect or ignore our imbued privilege to care for the other beings who share this planet with us. We simply cannot reach our full potential without the insights and observations and opportunities that other people – who are all ultimately both our teachers and our closet family members – have to give us. We cannot feel whole until we are helping other people to know a greater peace &/or reach their potential. Time alone to ourselves (especially in nature) has its place, no doubt, and yet we very much all need to acknowledge our interconnection to our fellow sentient beings and – more importantly – to regularly act as if those people meant more to us than our dreams or jobs or possessions do.” ~ via Tom Walsh
