Day 143f: Reading beyond the Words … (September 19, 2019)
I wasn’t so sure of this sign when I passed it on this day – knowing that any truly Divine godhead could approve of neither the innate divisiveness of religion nor the pious arrogance of righteousness. “Reclaiming neighborliness as part of the communal life is essential to Christ’s ministry and the ultimate fulfillment of his vision. Indeed, no person can fully live solely unto themselves. It is simply impossible. And yet far more importantly, the intimate personalization of neighborliness (a.k.a. Love, the verb – the “perfect Love” Jesus encourages us all to embody in all his Gospel teachings) returns all real authority to the members of the community – the community that the local church serves (not the other way around).” ~ via C.
