Day 143e: To be a better Human(e) … (September 19, 2019)

Becoming a better human is not about achieving more wealth or attaining a greater influence over others or a taller stature in society. No, in large part being a better human is letting others know that they themselves are already enough – already completely worthy of receiving a steady stream of love and caring and kindness and charity. Yes, being a better human means realizing that every single day is another layer of fresh color lightly added to the masterpiece of the life you have been summoned to paint. It’s handing out trophies (most of them unearned) to let people know they’ve wowed you by simply being who they are, much less trying to become the best version thereof … Choosing to see life and all others residing within it as innately amazing does proffer a smooth transition into feelings of deep reverence and heartfelt gratitude; two states of being that both often offer irresistible fields of energy from which to tap. And yet we would all do well to remember (and re-Member) that the purest source of our power can only be summoned when we choose to be open and vulnerable and courageously kind towards all others – and this, regardless of their creed or gender or nationality or species; even regardless of whether they are actually deserving of the same.” ~ inspired by Brad Montague & Frederick Dodson
