Day 136d: How we are driven to Drive … (September 12, 2019)

For someone who has lived in Germany for the better part of two decades and who speaks German with relative fluency, this sign was incredibly humorous and even a bit metaphoric; the former because I remember all too well how many humorous misadventures I had with the German language (both spoken & written), and the latter because the misspelled word in question – Fahrvergnügen – can be loosely translated as “a feeling of overwhelming comfort that comes to one while driving smoothly”, which was a feeling that almost certainly would never be experienced in any of the VW’s on sale in this particular lot …
