Day 131g: A home within my HOME … (September 07, 2019)

I had been offered a small handful of Air B&B overnights during my Walk up to this point, and yet the one I was offered here in Lexington proved to quite special indeed – and not because of the quality of the lodging or the softness of the bed or the deliciousness of the food provided. No, this stay-over was special because of the people involved – namely, residence owner Monique and her daughter Shekinah, who were both incredibly kind to me during my stay. Having a bed and the coziness of my own room was not a requirement for this Journey (as many a night on many an open-air bench had already attested), and yet whenever a bed & a roof were offered, my body & mind did indeed rejoice …

Remember then that there is only one important time, and that time is now. And that the most important one is always the one you are with. And that the most important thing is simply to do the good you can do for the one who happens to be standing at your side. This is why we are here … It is easy to believe we are each waves and forget we are also the ocean. Let us remember the same, and let us love one another accordingly.” ~ via Jon J. Muth
