Day 130c: Where goodness is bought & sold … (September 06, 2019)
The walking was free and easy this morning – with cool cloud-cover overhead and smooth surfaces underfoot and very little traffic racing by. And so it was that I fluidly made my way down Highway 340W all the way to the outskirts of Stuarts Draft, where I instinctively frowned upon a sign advertising “Free Kindness with every order.” I mean, why wouldn’t we dish out the Free Kindness to everyone in every moment, whether they order a pizza or not?
“He who creates a poison, also has the antidote. He who creates a virus, also has the cure. He who creates chaos, can readily engender peace. He who sparks hatred, has the ability to transmute the same to Love. He who creates misery, can destroy the same with kindness. He who creates sadness, can easily proffer joy. He who creates darkness, can light the next needed candle. He who spreads fear, can lead the way to courage. In truth, any problems created by the left hand of man, can also be smoothly solved with the right. For he who manifests anything, also has the ability to lessen and replace the same … And so the Good Man is he among those beings of greater scope who spread their leafy branches willingly over broader horizons. To be such a Man is, precisely, to be responsible – not only for ones own actions, but also for all the suffering he meets or sees along his path. To be such a Man is to know rage at the sight of poverty and to become loud in the face of corruption. It is to be proud of every victory won by loving comrades, and it is to know, as we repeatedly place our stones, that we are indeed rebuilding the world.” ~ inspired by Suzy Kassem & Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
