Day 123h: Crossing over to Number 10 … (August 30, 2019)
After enjoying several miles of a wide-shouldered Highway 15, I made it to the town of Point of Rocks and then crossed the Potomac River into the state of Virginia – meaning that 9 of the 11 countries & U.S. states* my pilgrimage needed to cross to get to Chattanooga had been successfully traversed!
*The 4 countries of Germany, Switzerland, France, & Spain, and the 7 U.S. states of New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Tennessee
“Love is like a river. The currents of life, they ebb & flow, and they come & go. Time sweeps us away from each other, yes, and yet Love always brings us back – ever allows us to see past Soulmates in freshly met faces … We are all summoned onward; called to preserve the greater Love within us – to keep caring amidst all the whirl and noise. To remain open and calm to kindness, to be the soft soil in life’s fertile darkness where the rain falls and the grain ripens – and this, no matter how many tramp across the barren parade ground; no matter how many march in whirling dust under a still arid sky … Our body is our garden, and our will its gardener. So let us allow our will to do its tending thereof. Be bold in Love, my friends, and become deeply Beautiful thereby.” ~ inspired by Kate McGahan, Dag Hammarskjöld & William Shakespeare
