Day 121a: Another fond Farewell … (August 28, 2019)
I woke early after another wonderful night’s sleep and quietly prepped my things for departure (including pairs 10 & 11 of fresh socks that Joel had purchased for me the day before). Thereafter the rest of the Family rose and we shared a really nice breakfast together – before the kids headed off to day’s activities, before Betsy & Joel headed off to work (the latter with super kind co-worker Pat, who had joined us for that morning’s repast), and before I waved them all farewell and made my way back out onto The Way …
“The Sun was given to all and does not shine on only the few. So, just has Nature is indifferent to our station or situation, we too need to know that all who we encounter are essentially equal. And as such, we need to focus on the things that are constant within us all – a longing for justice, a call to be compassionately helpful, a summons to solidarity, and a gentle demand for kindness – and not place our own personal values on things or opinions that can (and will inevitably) be blown away by Life’s next, great, Storm. We are all to deeply value – to openly cherish, even – sentience in what ever house it happens to dwell. For when it comes time that we too are stripped to our Soul’s bare bones before the Divine and are facing Eternity’s borders, we will at the latest then come to comprehend that the only law we were meant to follow, was for us to boldly Care for one another. Nothing more…nothing less.” ~ via Carla Jo Masterson
