Day 114c: To receive a Love most brotherly … (August 21, 2019)

Thereafter, after waking from my less-than-comfortable bed (a massive understatement, that), I set forth again into the heart of the city, and soon enough passed by a sign that any pun-loving Peace Pilgrim would have to pause and honor. And so it was that I entered the Kale Yeah! Restaurant, and so it was that I was warmly greeted by its owner (Gally), and so it was that both he and his employee that day (Maria) were deeply moved by the story of my Walk, and so it was that they then blessed me with great kindness and warm encouragement and an incredibly delicious avocado & sun dried tomato toast, and then let me sit there quietly and rest awhile in peace before sauntering onward along on my Way — and so it was that Philadelphia did indeed welcome me into its confines with a most brotherly Love …

I believe in energies and Good Energy has ever served me well. And yet this Good Energy of which I speak does not come from mere co-creative thinking of manifestive emotion. No, truly Good Energy ensues when bold actions are taken – actions that, without surprise, are Good themselves. Being fair with friends, being compassionate towards wrongdoers, remaining humble in the face of haughtiness, and making a difference to someone in need are just a few of the things that I have seen create real Good Energy. Beautiful things. Human things. Things like love and kindness and charity and self-sacrifice. And I have found that the best way to surround myself with these types of things is to generate them myself. I have taken risks in the past – risks for others, of course, and have managed to avoid significant harm I believe by the protection of the Good Energy that such selfless love ever generates. I believe that ugliness creates more ugliness – that anger creates more anger – and that violence creates more violence. And of course, the opposite of these is just as true – that beauty begets beauty, love begets love, and peace begets peace as well. And so no matter how touched by ugliness or anger or violence you are, it is crucial to remember that you do not have to give in to them and start spreading them beyond yourself. You can do the opposite in response, and the opposite is what will blossom thereafter.” ~ inspired by Ashly Lorenzana
