Day 112e: Dana and the Deity … (August 19, 2019)

It was a relatively smooth walking day, and I made it without wobble or worry to the town of Lawrenceville, where I am first given a delicious peach by Debbie at the roadside Village Farms produce stand, and then am offered some just as delicious ice water (with three slices of lemon, no less) from the Chambers Walk Cafe. And I hadn’t made it but a few feet further along The Way when I heard a cheery “Hey mister!” and turned to see Dana walking up to me with a cold bottle of water for the road. It seems she had seen me walking on the roadside earlier on her way into work, and felt profoundly “called by God” to approach me should she ever see me again. She asked me why I was walking and she teared up lovingly when I told her why & how. We were even able to speak for a short time on the all-important difference between the Path of Paul as taught by the church vs The Way of Christ as embodied by Jesus. I’m not sure if any of the latter wisdom stuck, and yet I certainly am sure that we both left our gentle meeting better people than we were before …

I find myself at peace with who I am as I realize I am one with the Grand Intention that underwrites the Universe. This intention is Harmony – this intention is Compassion – this intention is Caring – this intention is Love. As Love (the verb – the Love of the Cosmos) is ultimately the only reality, it is Love that I truly am. I am Love and a child of Love. Love is my home and Love is my mission. And so I am Love, and as I am Love so too am I loved. And I choose to Love all, and thereby embody all that is Love without condition. I was created in Love’s image, and I am therefore unconditional Love itself. I am understanding. I am forgiveness. I am compassion. I am patience. I am kindness. I am healing. I am joy. I am playfulness. I am goodness. I am harmony. I am peace. And all that what truly matters in the world. Let these then also be my blessings bestowed upon all I meet along my way.” ~ via Wald Wassermann
