Day 112b: Soaking UP the Word … (August 19, 2019)

I easily made it into the town of Princeton proper, and just as easily entered and reverently paused there inside the peaceful bounds of St. Paul’s Catholic Church …

All the cunning of the devil is exercised in trying to tear us away from the Word of God as heard through the words of Jesus Christ … Indeed the problem with today’s world is that everyone believes they have the right to express their opinion and demand that others adhere to them. Indeed, the far more correct statement of individual rights is that everyone has the right to an opinion, yes, and yet even more crucially, that every opinion may be roundly ignored or even made openly fun of, especially if it is demonstrably nonsense … In short, there is no need to imagine a personal God; for it fully suffices for us to stand in awe at the phenomenal structure of the cosmos, and then embrace all nearby with love.” ~ inspired by Martin Luther, Brian Cox & Albert Einstein

Those who love me will keep my Word [not Paul’s] and emulate my Way [not Paul’s], and while they do so my Father will love them, and we will both be reflected by them and indeed make our home within them. Whoever does not emulate my words does not truly love me, and the words that you hear from me are not mine but rather come from the Father who sent me. I have said these things to you while I am still with you. And yet the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father ever sends in my name, will re-teach you everything and remind you of all that I [not Paul] have said to you. And remember: It is Peace I leave with you; and it is my Peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives and the men of the world [like Paul] give. So let not your hearts be troubled, and let never them be afraid.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 14:23-27)
