Day 112a: To flow like The River … (August 19, 2019)

I woke this morning feeling absolutely fantastic – something that 10+ hours of sleep, freshly cleaned clothes, a warm shower and a hearty breakfast shared with like-Souled Friends will do for any pilgrim. And then it was time for another fond farewell as I headed back to The Road – to walk its ways smoothly – without any hectic or hurry; the way all rivers flow ever onward to the sea …

Surrender is the ultimate sign of strength and the foundation for any sincerely spiritual life. For surrendering expresses a deeper desire to transcend selfish struggles and transform negative emotions. It commands a life far beyond the wispy limits of the ego, far beyond that tinier part of ourselves that is continually reminding us that we are separate or special or deserving or alone. Surrendering allows us to return to our true and far larger nature. It allows us to move effortlessly through the cosmic dance called life. It is a powerful statement that proclaims the perfect order of the Universe and the crucial role we each play in its every Here&Now. Surrender and serenity are synonymous; we can’t experience one without the other. And all we have to do is resign as acting like the General Manager of the Universe. Surrender is saying that even though we can’t see where the river is flowing, we have faith that it will take us in the right direction, and – far more importantly – that there will always be something to caringly Do along the way.” ~ inspired by Debbie Ford
