Day 109m: Stopping by the Wayside … (August 16, 2019)

And so it was that walked on into the gathering loom, and then deeper into the darkening night; eventually making it to the 2nd Baptist Church in the town of Rahway, where I limped up to its open front stoop and lay my weary body down for the night …

I have been finding treasures in places I did not want to search. I have been hearing wisdom from tongues to which I did not want to listen. I have been finding beauty where I did not want to look. And I have learned so much from journeys I did not want to take. Forgive me, O Gracious One; for I have been closing my ears and eyes for so long, and have only now learned that miracles are only called miracles because they are often witnessed by only those who see through life’s illusions. I am ready to see what really exists in this glorious life, all that exists behind the blinds of culture and dogma and societal expectation. I am ready to taste all the fruit laid before me, instead of only the blessings that looks fresh and glowing and ripe … After all, our blessings are nothing if they are but harbored & held for ourselves, and indeed it is not what blessings we receive that matters, but rather solely what we do with the same for others that ultimately wins each day.” ~ inspired by Suzy Kassem & W.T.
