And then, after waking gratefully and proceeding onward resolutely, the Sun began to rise in earnest, and I looked to my left and realized that I had made it back to the original latitude of my American adventure’s beginning – that, after walking some 20 miles northward to make it across the Hudson River into New Jersey, I had walked that same distance southward since, and was actually walking past my Brooklyn home of the week before …
